October Meeting

Please welcome, Jennifer Fahnestock, to the group as a new member.  Jennifer has recently moved from Washington state to Baltimore.

The evening started with a few news items - a catalog of classes from the new art facility now located in the old Lorton prison, a list of classes from Caldron Crafts, and a description of a copper wiring class offered by Sally Stevens.  Tracey will be getting in touch with Sarah Higgins at the Delaplaine to see if she would contact Sally to teach this class thru the Delaplaine after the first of the year.   We then moved into our October project - multi media.  Be sure to check out the pictures in the Gallery.  Julie Delaney told us about her boro class with Anderson Coats of Accent Glass and showed us her examples - beautiful.  Linda Butcher told the group about her recent trip to Florida where she went to a yard sale held by a man who worked at Delphi Glass.  He was selling out his ENTIRE supply of glass and tools.  Linda picked up a toolbox kiln for $20 - yes, that's right - and a minor torch for $50.

The evening ended with a show-n-tell of some pieces by Debby Weaver, Anne Dunsmore, Jennifer Fahnestock, and Tracey Alfaro.
