August Felting Supplies
I will bring lots of scraps of flat wool felt to embellish with needle felting, and bits of yarn, ribbon etc. for embellishments (or bring your own). You need to bring:
- Felting needle &/or Clover felting tool, which has 5 needles for faster felting.
- Mat to felt on -- a piece of thick (about 2") dense foam, about 5 - 7 inches square, or Clover felting mat, which looks like an upside-down scrub brush.
- Sharp scissors

HOW MUCH do they cost?
- Felting needles: package of 5 for about $3.50
- Clover 5-needle felting tool: $16.50
- Clover felting mat: small $9.98 large $17.50
- Foam mat: a dollar or two. Get 1/8 yard and cut into pieces.
WHAT SIZE felting needle?
Any size will do. Size 36 is largest, sturdiest, but tends to leave "dimples" in the wool. Size 38 is medium. Size 38 "star point" leaves fewer dimples but may cost more. Size 40 is finest for detail work but easier to break.
